Overview & History

The Dassault Falcon 2000LXS is the replacement of the the Falcon 2000LX. One of the critical differences between the two aircraft is the improved short field performance capabilities of the 2000LXS.

A decrease in the distance required for an aircraft to land and take off results in increased airport access. Consequently, passengers will be able to depart and arrive closer to their final destination.

As a result, overall travel time will be reduced.

The Falcon 2000 aircraft range has a long and impressive history. Originally launched in 1994, Dassault have released 7 total civilian variants of the aircraft.

Since its inception over 550 Falcon 2000 series aircraft are currently in service.

The 2000LXS features transcontinental range, stellar short field performance and a luxurious cabin.

Dassault Falcon 2000LXS Performance

The 2000LXS is powered by two rear mounted Pratt & Whitney Canada PW308C engines. These engines incorporate advanced technology for increased durability, lower emissions and lower operating costs.

According to Dassault the engines on the 2000LXS burn up to 20% less fuel than competitors.

The 2000LXS is known for its short field performance for its size. The minimum take off distance comes in at 5,878 feet.

Meanwhile the minimum landing distance is just 2,260 feet.

After take off the aircraft is capable of cruising at 470 knots at a maximum altitude of 47,000 feet. With a maximum range of 4,000 Nautical Miles (4,603 Miles / 7,408 KM), the Falcon can comfortably cross continents.

Dassault Falcon 2000LXS Interior

Inside the Falcon 2000LXS passengers are treated to peace and quiet. According to Dassault; passengers flying the 2000LXS “travel queitly, graciously and productively”.

The interior of the 2000LXS is spacious, stylish and quiet. The 2000LXS has a large interior for its segment and is described as being generous and luxurious in every way.

No matter how long the flight is passengers will be comfortable.

Dassault have outfitted the aircraft with advanced connection technology and an intuitive cabin management system. The cabin management system is compatible with most smartphones, allowing you to control the cabin from everywhere.

The Falcon 2000LXS is 7 feet and 8 inches wide inside. This makes the cabin wider and more inviting than most of its competitors.

The 2000LXS can accommodate up to 10 passengers for up to eight hours. Featuring a fully flat floor, headroom comes in at 6 feet 2 inches.

Therefore, most passengers will be able to comfortably move around the cabin and stand up.

Dassault have been able to fit eighteen large windows that drench the interior in light. Windows are strategically placed next to seats in order to provide every passenger with a view.

Frequent air circulation and fresh air ensures that you stay refreshed. As a result, jet lag should be reduced to a minimum on long flights.

Cockpit

Upfront Dassault have implemented their world class EASy cockpit. Please note, this is Dassault’s previous generation of flight deck technology.

However, the EASy cockpit still has many of the key features. Having been described as a “smart, integrated, feature-packed avionics system”, pilots are able to fly efficiently and safely.

Thanks to Dassault’s knowledge of fighter jet design and construction, the 2000LXS has been built to fly like a fighter jet – except smoother.

The 2000LXS is also equipped with Dassault’s FalconEye Combined Vision System. FalconEye provides flight crews with improved situational awareness in all weather conditions at all times of day.

The FalconEye is an advanced Head Up Display (HUD) system that increases the margin of safety, especially at challenging airfields.

Dassault Falcon 2000LXS Charter Cost

The estimated charter cost for a Dassault Falcon 2000LXS is $5,500 per flight hour. Naturally this price will vary depending on availability, fuel prices, ground fees and more.

Alternatively, if flying less than 3,515 Nautical Miles then consider the Dassault Falcon 2000S.
