New private jet prices vary widely: the most expensive purpose-built business jets in production cost more than 20 times what the least expensive new jets do. The prices below are typically equipped prices for new aircraft, the same figures as our private jet price list for 90 models: Aviation Week's Business & Commercial Aviation 2026 Purchase Planning Handbook and the manufacturers' announcements. Typically equipped prices include the options most buyers order, so they run above the manufacturers' base list prices (the Global 8000's widely reported base list price is $78 million). A custom interior and operating costs are not included, and the list covers jets in production only, not converted airliners.

  • Most expensive: the Bombardier Global 8000 at $85 million.
  • Entry to the top 10: $38.3 million (Dassault Falcon 2000LXS).
  • Longest range: 8,200 nm (Gulfstream G800).
  • Fastest: Mach 0.95 (Global 8000).

Gulfstream G600

The G600 is the sister aircraft to the G500, both unveiled in 2014. It measures 5 feet longer than the G500 and can fly 1,300 nautical miles further. In the second quarter of 2017, 80% of all Gulfstream orders were for the G500 and G600 combined, a testament to how popular this platform became almost immediately.

The G600 is capable of near-supersonic speeds and has earned over 20 speed records, including Savannah to Geneva in 7 hours and 21 minutes at Mach 0.90. First customer delivery was in August 2019, with EASA certification following in December 2020.

3. Gulfstream G800

$80.4 million
Gulfstream G800

Announced in October 2021, the G800 received FAA and EASA certification in April 2025 and saw its first delivery in August 2025. It replaces the G650, which rolled off the assembly line for the final time in February 2025. Sharing the G700’s wing and Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines but with a G650-sized cabin approximately 10 feet shorter, the G800 achieved an updated maximum range of 8,200 nautical miles and a certified top speed of Mach 0.935. It directly competes with the Bombardier Global 8000. Fortune 500 companies have been cited as primary buyers, with the first 20 deliveries going to existing G650 customers.

2. Gulfstream G700

$84.9 million
Gulfstream G700

The G700 is now fully in service, having received FAA certification in March 2024 and EASA certification in April 2024. The first deliveries went to U.S. customers in April 2024 after Gulfstream stockpiled more than 30 aircraft during certification. Qatar Executive was an early customer and the fleet passed its 50th delivery in May 2025, with the fleet accumulating over 11,700 flight hours within its first year of operation. Gulfstream has recorded over 80 city-pair speed records with the G700.

With the G650 production ending and the G800 now in service, the G700 holds the longest cabin in the Gulfstream lineup, approximately 10 feet longer than the G800, with up to five living zones and a dedicated master suite with shower. It is the aircraft to choose when cabin space takes priority over absolute range.

1. Bombardier Global 8000

$85 million
Bombardier Global 8000

The most expensive purpose-built private jet in production, and now in service. The Global 8000 received Transport Canada type certification on November 5, 2025 and FAA certification in December 2025. The first aircraft was delivered on December 8, 2025, to Canadian entrepreneur Patrick Dovigi in a ceremony at Bombardier’s assembly centre in Mississauga. NetJets has since taken delivery of its own examples. With a top speed of Mach 0.95, the Global 8000 is the fastest civil aircraft since the Concorde was retired in 2003.

Powered by two General Electric Passport engines, it carries up to 19 passengers across four living zones and boasts the lowest cabin altitude of any business aircraft at 2,691 ft at 41,000 ft, a genuine comfort differentiator for long overnight flights. Production is expected to run at approximately 40 units per year going forward.

No Longer Built New, and Coming Next

Three jets that topped earlier versions of this list are now sold only used, and one is still on its way.

Gulfstream G650 and G650ER. Launched internally in 2005 and unveiled publicly in 2008, the G650 was the largest, fastest, and most expensive aircraft Gulfstream had ever produced at the time, with over 500 examples delivered. In 2013, Gulfstream flew one around the world in 41 hours and 7 minutes, the fastest westbound circumnavigation by a non-supersonic aircraft. The G650ER added 4,000 lb of fuel for 7,500 nautical miles. Production ended in 2025 and the G800 replaced both. Used: $25.2M–$66.3M (2012–2023 builds). G650ER costs →

Bombardier Global 7500. Entering service in December 2018 with a 7,700 nm range and four cabin zones, it flew the longest business jet mission on record in October 2019, Sydney to Detroit in 17 hours. The Global 8000 has succeeded it. Used: $48.6M–$81.9M (2019–2024 builds). Global 7500 costs →

Dassault Falcon 10X. Dassault's next flagship, a twin with a stated 7,500 nm range and Mach 0.925 top speed, rolled out at Bordeaux-Mérignac in March 2026, with first deliveries planned for 2027. It is not on the list until it delivers and a typically equipped price is published.

What They Cost to Own and Fly

The purchase price is the start. Of the ten, CRAFT's cost model estimates only the Gulfstream G500 so far: the newest types have no published fuel burn we can cite yet, so we leave them out rather than guess. Here is the G500 beside the earlier ultra-long-range jets the model covers, including the Global 5000 and 6000 that the 5500 and 6500 replaced, at 400 flight hours a year, with the fuel for an hour at today's price.

Fixed and variable costs from CRAFT's cost model, as on each model's ownership-cost page (estimates, before purchase price and depreciation). Fuel per hour is the model's average burn at $7.66 a gallon, our estimate of today's U.S. average FBO price for Jet A (jet fuel price today).

Fuel is a large part of the variable cost: the ultra-long-range jets in our data burn 347 to 535 gallons an hour on average (fuel burn of every private jet). The range map shows how far each size reaches nonstop from any airport.

Chartering One Instead

You don't have to own one to fly one: these jets are chartered by the hour and sold in jet card hours. Published hourly rates by jet size, ultra-long-range included:

Published jet card hourly rates by jet size, middle half of the range

Light jetPhenom 3006$7.5k–$9.5k
Midsize jetCitation XLS7$9.5k–$10.5k

Large jetChallenger 60510$14.5k–$16.5k

The middle half of the hourly rates jet card companies publish for each size, checked October 2, 2026, with the 7.5% federal excise tax added where a company says it is extra and an estimated fuel surcharge where one applies. Charter quotes add repositioning, fees and minimums. Cost by flight time.

On a real trip the bill is the flight time times the rate: the private jet to Hawaii and New York pages price the long routes by jet size, and cost by flight time prices a 1, 2, 3 or 5-hour flight.

Why Do Some Jets Sell for More Used Than New?

From 2021 to 2023, demand for private jets surged while production and supply chains lagged. Buyers who would not wait for a delivery slot paid a premium for immediate delivery, and some nearly new jets at the top of the market sold at or above their new price. The gap usually reopens when the factory warranty on a nearly new aircraft runs out, at which point a new aircraft becomes the more attractive buy.
