Overview & History

A large jet with incredible range, comfort, and productivity. The legacy 650 is an extended-range derivative of the Legacy 600.

It has the additional range to the Legacy 600 and the baggage compartment is the largest in its class and fully accessible during flights.

Legacy 650 is a large business jet developed by Embraer. Following the completion of its maiden flight in September 2009, the aircraft entered into service in late 2010.

The aircraft received type certifications from the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), Brazil, and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) in October 2010. The ANAC also certified the Legacy 650 for High Altitude Landing and Takeoff (HALTO) operations in August 2012.

In addition, the aircraft received type certification from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in February 2011.

Embraer Legacy 650 Performance

The Legacy 650 has an impressive range of 3,900 nautical miles, which allows the aircraft to easily cross the Atlantic. And even with a maximum passenger capacity of fourteen, the 650 can fly 3,500 nautical miles nonstop.

To facilitate long-distance travel, this executive transport features auxiliary fuel tanks as well as winglets to reduce excessive drag. Its state-of-the-art Primus Elite avionics suite seamlessly integrates modern navigational instrumentation with multiple flat-panel displays to promote full pilot awareness, while also reducing excessive workload.

Two Rolls Royce AE3007A2 engines provide 9,020 pounds of thrust each, which enables the additional range capabilities and performance characteristics for which the 650 is known. If you are looking for a modern medium-range business jet, Embraer’s Legacy 650 is undoubtedly an excellent option.

Built upon the foundation of an already successful executive aircraft, the additional range, comfort features, and performance characteristics are just the icing on the cake. Cruise speed of Mach 0.80, the service ceiling of the aircraft is 12,497m.

The landing distance of the aircraft is 5,741ft (1,750m) and the takeoff distance is 5,741ft (1,750m). The operating altitude is 41,000ft (12,497m).

The take-off weight of Legacy 650 is 53,572lb (24,300kg), while its landing weight is 44,092lb (20,000kg). The aircraft has a zero fuel weight of 36,155lb (16,400kg).

An optional forward lavatory can also be included. The cabin has a baggage compartment with a space of 240ft3 (6.8m3) and internal storage space of about 46ft3 (1.3m3).

The galley features a touchscreen monitor for master control of the cabin systems, refrigerator or wine chiller, coffee brewer or Espresso machines, microwave, and three power outlets. The cabin management system in the refined version offers passenger controls at all seats, iPod/iPhone docking stations, Blu-ray players, radio, 3D maps, and wireless remote control.

The interiors are also improved in the refined version, with 12 new veneer choices, six stone flooring choices, protective vinyl carpeting, and a satin finish.

Cockpit
