Overview & History

The Dassault Falcon 2000LX was released over a decade after the release of the successful Falcon 2000. It still has all of the components that made the Falcon 2000 series great – economy, speed, a large cabin – but improved on all of these elements to make an even better jet.

The long-range Falcon 2000LX, essentially the EX model with the addition of winglets, is the most advanced and up-to-date aircraft in the series.

The 2000LX replaced the Falcon 2000EX in 2008 and deliveries of the 2000LX are scheduled to begin in 2010.

In April 2009, the Falcon 2000LX received certification from Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). In July 2009, the 2,000th Falcon, a 2000LX, was delivered to Istanbul-based Koc Holding at the Bordeaux-Mérignac facility.

Dassault Falcon 2000LX Performance

The Falcon 2000 series is based on the popular Falcon 900 series but is a smaller, lighter, twin-engine version of the three-engined 900 model. The original Falcon 2000 was designed to have the same wide-bodied appeal of the 900 although shorter in length with less maximum range.

This was not necessarily a disadvantage, however, as the shorter range allows the Falcon 2000 to use one less engine in a more economical twin-engine setup.

The 2000LX utilizes two Part & Whitney Canada PW308C engines, which each provide over 7,000 lbs of thrust. It can consistently fly at an impressive cruising speed of 493 knots.

With the addition of blended winglets to the EX’s frame, the LX can now fly over 4,000 nautical miles.

Dassault Falcon 2000LX Interior

Interior accommodation for passengers is spacious and comfortable. The cabin dimensions of the 2000LX are 26′ 2″ length, 7′ 8″ width, and 6′ 2″ height.

With 1,024 cubic feet of interior space, passengers will find that they have much-appreciated freedom of movement and legroom.

Although the cabin can seat up to 19 passengers in a high-density seating arrangement, the most typical and comfortable arrangement accommodates eight passengers in a luxurious lounge atmosphere.

Multiple lounge areas, two fold-down bed-like seats, a forward galley, a full aft lavatory, and a variety of possible interior customizations each work in conjunction to create a relaxing travel environment.

The Falcon 2000LX is a prime example of Dassault’s determination to not only produce excellent aircraft but to continually improve upon their successes. The latest version is the ultimate modern refinement of an already hugely successful aircraft.

The Falcon 2000LX is an excellent option for travelers looking for premier wide-body business jet performance.
