Key Facts
Purchase Price
If you are looking to purchase a Cessna Citation Longitude then you can expect to pay, at minimum, just under $30 million. Of course, this price has increased over the past couple of years since delivery of the aircraft first started.
As previously mentioned, NetJets was able to purchase their Longitude aircraft at just $26 million each. However, they were buying in bulk (175 units), and are a large-scale operator who is better able to negotiate prices.
If you are looking for a pre-owned example, then you will need to be willing to wait a while for an aircraft to hit the market. Due to the popularity and relatively low production figures, finding a pre-owned example is tricky.
Moreover, when they do come up for sale the price is still in the high $20 million range. This, therefore, results in a highly impressive depreciation figure, given that prices haven’t really gone down over new aircraft.

Overview & History
The Cessna Citation Longitude is the flagship aircraft of the Cessna Citation family. Announced in 2012, the Longitude made its first flight in 2016 and obtained certification in 2018.
Deliveries of the Longitude began in early 2019.
The Longitude is the successor to the canceled Cessna Citation Columbus aircraft. The Columbus project was canceled in mid-2009.
The aircraft was due to be the largest Citation business jet produced by the company. However, given the economic climate at the time, Cessna concluded that the Columbus aircraft would not succeed in the environment.
The Longitude is the largest aircraft that Cessna currently produce. The Longitude fits into the super-midsize aircraft category.
The cross-section of the fuselage is the same as the Citation Latitude. However, the Longitude features a T-shaped tail, differentiating itself from the rear end of the Latitude.
The Longitude is one of the selected few aircraft to be operated by NetJets. The fractional ownership company announced the purchase of up to 175 aircraft, at a price tag of $26 million each.
Additionally, the Japan Civil Aviation Bureau and General Directorate of State Airports Authority of Turkey are both government operators of the Longitude.
According to Cessna, the Citation Longitude has been designed with “your business and return on investment in mind”. With its transatlantic range, advanced engineering, and great cabin experience, Cessna says it has the “lowest total ownership costs of any super-midsize jet”.
The Cessna Citation Longitude competes alongside the Gulfstream G280, Challenger 350, Dassault Falcon 2000S, and Embraer Legacy 600.
Cessna Citation Longitude Performance
The Cessna Citation Longitude is powered by two rear-mounted Honeywell HTF7700L engines. Each engine produces 7,665 lb of thrust.
This, therefore, results in a total maximum combined thrust of 15,330 lbs.
As a result, the Cessna Citation Longitude is able to take-off in just 4,810 feet. When it comes time to land, the Longitude is capable of completing a full-stop landing in just 3,170 feet.
Given the size and capabilities of the aircraft, these ground performance figures are very impressive.
Moreover, the Longitude is able to cruise at a maximum speed of 483 knots and cruise at up t0 45,000 feet. In optimum conditions and with only 4 passengers onboard, the Longitude is able to cruise non-stop for up to 3,500 Nautical Miles (4,027 Miles / 6,482 KM).
Of course, depending on weather conditions, ATC routing, and the number of passengers onboard, this figure will be slightly different.
Cessna estimates that with 10 passengers and 2 pilots onboard, the Citation Longitude will be able to fly non-stop for 3,216 Nautical Miles (3,597 Miles / 5,789 KM).
Therefore, these range figures put the Longitude in the comfortable position of being able to cross the Atlantic with ease. In both situations (zero to maximum passengers onboard), the Citation Longitude should be able to fly non-stop from New York to London.
That is, of course, assuming optimum weather and route conditions.
Cessna Citation Longitude Interior

Being Cessna’s flagship aircraft the aircraft manufacturers have gone to great lengths to increase comfort. The cabin is large and spacious.
The cabin is easy to stroll through thanks to a flat floor and six-foot height. Cessna says that the aircraft features “best-in-class legroom”.
Extensive work developing and implementing soundproofing techniques creates the “world’s quietest super-midsize cabin”. The cabin noise level is just 67 decibels.
In addition to the quiet cabin Cessna has created an aircraft with a maximum cabin altitude of just 5,950 feet. Combining these factors provides a relaxing environment.
Therefore, the peace and quiet are perfect for conducting business, resting, and talking with your fellow passengers.
In terms of air, the Longitude features a partial recirculation system. This system reuses a percentage of air from the cabin while also relying on fresh air to fill the cabin.
Cessna ensures that these systems use HEPA (High-Efficiency Particle Arrestance) filters. These filters consist of a cluster of fibers that filter out pathogens, dust, and other contaminations as air is forced through.
Typically, a full-volume exchange takes around four minutes to complete. Thanks to the external air being compressed and heated by the engines, you can be sure that germs, bacteria, and viruses are killed.
As a result of being Cessna’s newest jet, it has all the latest interior technology. For example, Cessna has implemented a fully wireless cabin management system that puts you in control of the cabin from every seat.
The cabin management system allows passengers to control the lighting, temperature, and communications from their own devices.
