Overview & History

The Citation brand encompasses six distinct families of aircraft. The Bravo came from the Citation II family.

As the successor to the Citation II, the Bravo features more powerful and more fuel-efficient PW530A engines, resulting in a higher MGTOW, a faster cruise speed, and a longer range.

As of February 2014, the Citation Bravo market is comprised of 100% pre-owned. The percentage for sale is 12.3% with 54% under an exclusive broker agreement and the average days on the market are 334 days.

The first flight of the Citation Bravo took place on April 25, 1995. The last Citation Bravo rolled off the production line over a decade later in late 2006.

During that time, a total 336 Citation Bravo aircraft were built from 1997 to 2006 with 333 in operation today.

Cessna Citation Bravo Performance

The Citation Bravo is powered by two Pratt &Whitney PW530A engines. Each engine delivers 12.84kN (2,287lb) of thrust.

The runway performance allows flights to and from airports with runway strips of 1,100m. At the time of its design, no other light-sized private jets were using the PW530A engines.

They burn thirteen percent less fuel than the other engines in the series. Cessna’s engineers saw their potential and used them in the Citation Bravo.

The Bravo lost 150 pounds of fuel carrying capacity, increased the maximum takeoff weight by 500 pounds, and still manages to burn fewer pounds of fuel per hour. The aircraft climbs directly to an altitude of 7,620m at maximum take-off weight in ten minutes and to 13,100m in 32 minutes.

The range with full fuel and a maximum take-off weight is 3,232km. The aircraft achieves a cruise speed of up to 403 knots (745km/h).

The range of the Citation Bravo is 1,587 nm.

Cessna Citation Bravo Interior

The cabin is heated and air-conditioned and pressurized to a pressure differential of 8.8psi using an engine bleed air pressurization system. The cabin, which can be fitted to the operator’s specification, has a standard seven-seat layout with four passengers in club seats facing each other plus three additional club seats.

The cabin measures 1.43m in height, 1.48m in width, and 4.75m in length without the cockpit.

The nose, cabin, and tail cone baggage compartments have a total capacity of 1.54m³. One of the features that sets the Citation Bravo apart from the competition is its comfort.

The engineers designed the cabin to be very quiet, fitted with bagged insulation and an isolated interior shell to eliminate the low-frequency engine fan noise common in small private jets. Additionally, a secondary seal on the cabin door was added to cut wind noise.

The Bravo has several baggage compartments with a combined capacity of seventy-three cubic feet, or about seven suitcases, four golf bags, and a few sets of skis. There is a convenient compartment beside the cabin lavatory for coats and carry-on items, and all of the seats have storage drawers beneath them.

6-8 passengers can fit easily in the jet.

Cockpit

The flight deck has two fully adjustable seats. The aircraft is equipped with Honeywell Primus 1000 integrated avionics system, with a Honeywell GNSX flight management system and an electronic flight information system, dual 7in×8in screen primary flight displays, and a 7in×8in the multi-function display.

The Honeywell navigation suite includes a VHF omnidirectional ranger, distance measuring equipment, and digital automatic direction finder, Honeywell VG-14A vertical gyroscopes, and a C-14 compass set. The aircraft is fitted with a Honeywell Primus 660 color weather radar.

The pilot’s communications system is based on dual Honeywell KY-196 VHF transmitter and receives units
