Overview & History

Also known as the model CE- 560-E+, the Citation Encore Plus is one of the members of Cessna’s highly successful Citation family, known for its paramount cabin luxury, simplicity of flight and outstanding performance.

The Citation Encore Plus is the successor of the Citation Encore, featuring new dual-channel Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC), a new integrated Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 avionics suite, newly designed cabin, increased efficiency, increased payload capability, and improved cabin lighting.

The Cessna Citation V is a business jet built by Cessna. Stretched from the Citation II, a Model 560 prototype flew in August 1987, it was certified on December 9, 1988, and delivered from April 1987, 774 were delivered until 2011.

The upgraded Citation Ultra was announced in September 1993, the Citation Encore upgraded with PW535 turbofans was announced in 1998, before the improved Encore+. Its US military designation is UC-35.

Cessna Citation Encore+ Performance

The Citation Encore+ draws its power from two pylon-mounted PW535B engines. These engines produce 3,400 pounds of thrust each and come standard with a feature called full-authority digital engine controls (FADEC), which is incorporated to set optimal power for the configuration and reduce pilot load.

The fuel heaters selected for this system are powerful enough to forego the immediate need for anti-icing fuel additives.

For a swift flight, the Citation Encore+ is capable of maintaining its high-speed cruise velocity of 426 knots at an altitude of 37,000 feet, which is much higher than most aviation traffic.

However, to travel the furthest distances, the Citation Encore+ can maintain its long-range cruise speed of 375 knots at its maximum certified ceiling of 45,000 feet.

The Citation Encore+ features a range of over 1,750 nautical miles which, especially when considered in tandem with the trailing link landing gear system, provides a wide variety of airport options.

Cessna Citation Encore+ Interior

The cabin of the Citation Encore measures 17.8 feet long and 4.9 feet wide with 4.7 feet in height, providing a comfortable setting.

Fourteen windows surround the cabin, allowing for a stunning view while contributing to an open environment and a light atmosphere.

With 69 cubic feet of baggage capacity, this private jet offers plenty of storage for you and your client’s luggage needs.

There is plenty of storage space internally and externally, located in the forward closet, across from the aft lavatory, in the tail cone, and a ski tube in the aft baggage compartment.

The Citation Encore+ is generally configured to seat 5 passengers but can be rearranged to accommodate as many as 8 customers.

Cockpit

The Citation Encore+ comes standard with an upgraded A Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 avionics suite.

This lighter, more advanced system offers a single-channel autopilot with a dual-channel flight guidance system, a Communication Navigation Surveillance (CNS) system, and a 3D navigation Flight Management system FMS-3000.

Three LCD display screens are utilized as Primary Flight Displays (PFDs) or Multi-Function Displays (MFDs).

Other avionics systems featured in this advanced suite include the Pro Line 21 CNS radios, an Automatic Direction Finder (ADF), an Integrated Flight Information System (IFIS), a File Server Unit (FSU), an XM Broadcast weather system, an electronic chart database, and a solid-state weather radar.

The electronic chart database can be connected to the MFD to allow for paperless flight planning. Optional additions include an ADF receiver, a Doppler turbulence detection weather radar, an HF radio with SELCAL capabilities, and a secondary 12 channel GPS receiver.

Even with such a sophisticated avionics suite, the Cessna Citation Encore+ can be certified for single-pilot operations, further increasing flight planning flexibility and decreasing overhead operating costs.

Cessna Citation Encore+ Charter Cost

The cost to charter this jet starts at around $2,800 an hour. Hourly charter rates do not include all taxes, fuel, and other fees.

Charter costs will vary based on year of make/model, schedule, routing, passenger & baggage totals, and other factors.
