LEGstuff

LEGstuff is a black polypropylene monofilament material that is ideal for creating realistic legs on ant and beetle patterns. Unlike nylon monofilament, LEGstuff is easily crimped with a thumbnail to add more realism by adding knees or even feet. The material is lighter than water so it adds little or no weight to the pattern once it's on the water.

Used with our superANTS, it is tied on top of the body using John Betts' method to set the legs in the position found on a real ant. With our ultraBEETLE bodies, LEGstuff is tied on the hook with the body on top . Complete tying instructions will be found on the inside and back of the label.

Scroll down to the photo below for a look at what can be done with LEGstuff.

Take a 2 or 3 inch length of LEGstuff, form a loop and tie in. Fold the loop back on itself and tie down with figure eight turns.Cut each loop in the middle and criss-cross
with thread. Add lacquer to hold in place.
You will have 2 legs facing back, 2 legs at right angles and 2 legs facing forward. Cut the legs to length. You can leave them straight or you can crimp them between the thumbnail and finger. This one even has feet, although it's doubtful the trout care.
